🏛️ What It Is
Dujiangyan is the world’s oldest, only surviving, and still-operational damless water diversion system, originally constructed in 256 BC.More than 2,000 years ago, Li Bing and his son tamed the Min River through three major engineering feats—"water diversion at the Fish Mouth," "flood control at the Feisha Weir," and "water intake at the Baopingkou"—transforming the Chengdu Plain into the “Land of Abundance.” Beyond being a marvel of hydraulic engineering, the Dujiangyan Scenic Area also features the Anlan Rope Bridge, the Temple of the Two Kings, and the natural beauty of Mount Yulei, all of which are well worth seeing.

Tips for Visitors
30-minute direct Express Train ride
Take the express train from Xipu Station to Lidi Park Station (not Dujiangyan Station! Lidi Park Station is right at the entrance to the scenic area)—30 minutes for 10 yuan, which is faster than driving.
Visit the irrigation structures first, then enjoy the scenery
Recommended itinerary: Enter via Lidi Park → Fulu Temple → Baopingkou → Feisha Weir → Yuzui → Anlan Suspension Bridge → Erwang Temple → Yulei Mountain.
Common Mistakes
❌ Get off at Dujiangyan Station, not Lidi Park Station
There are two high-speed rail stations; many people buy tickets for the wrong one.
Consequence: From Dujiangyan Station, it’s still a 20-minute taxi ride to the scenic area. At Lidi Park Station, the scenic area is right outside the exit.
