A night cruise on the Jinjiang River is Chengdu’s most popular nighttime experience in recent years—board a traditional black-roofed boat and glide through the city along the Jinjiang River, with the dazzlingly lit Hejiang Pavilion, Anshun Covered Bridge, and the 339 TV Tower lining both banks.As the boat glides along the river, the play of light and shadow brings to life the ancient verse, “Ships from Dongwu, ten thousand li away, moored at the gate.” At Dongmen Pier on the riverbank, you’ll find a cultural and creative market, folk singers, and Chengdu street food. The entire trip takes about 40 minutes.

The cruise begins and ends at Dongmen Pier (near Hejiang Pavilion). Arrive at the pier half an hour early to pick up your tickets and wait in line.

Right off the boat, you’ll find Lan Kwai Fong Bar Street and Jiuyan Bridge—continue enjoying Chengdu’s nightlife.
