Night cruise on the Jinjiang RiverJinjiang Night Cruise
🏛️ What It Is
A night cruise on the Jinjiang River is Chengdu’s most popular nighttime experience in recent years—board a traditional black-roofed boat and glide through the city along the Jinjiang River, with the dazzlingly lit Hejiang Pavilion, Anshun Covered Bridge, and the 339 TV Tower lining both banks. As the boat glides along the river, the play of light and shadow brings to life the ancient verse, “Ships from Dongwu, ten thousand li away, moored at the gate.” At Dongmen Pier on the riverbank, you’ll find a cultural and creative market, folk singers, and Chengdu street food. The entire trip takes about 40 minutes.
✨ Why Visit
Chengdu is two different cities by night and by day. Taking a boat ride to view the Jinjiang River’s night scenery, with lights reflecting on the water’s surface and the vibrant lights of Lan Kwai Fong intertwining with the ancient charm of Hejiang Pavilion—this is the quintessential way to experience Chengdu’s nightlife.
