There is no subway in Zhangjiajie. Zhangjiajie West Station is a high-speed rail station (about a 15-minute drive to the city center). The Tianmen Mountain cable car goes directly from the city center to the mountaintop. Inside the scenic area, rely on shuttle buses (free) and walking—you’ll average about 20,000 steps a day. Wulingyuan and Tianmen Mountain are quite far apart, so plan your visits separately.
